RGT Annual Meeting and Celebration – Sunday June 11

The most excellent and tasty annual celebration of the Rattlesnake Gutter Trust will be held on Sunday, June 11 at 2:00pm opposite 11 Putney Road, on the lake front.  Rain will see the celebration in the downstairs of Town Hall. Any and all friend of RGT are invited to join in this relaxed informal gathering.

Seasonal Sounds of Leverett 2016-2017

We are near the end of our year-long project to list, record, and archive the sounds around us – those that soothe, those that annoy, those that tell our story. Like smells, sounds bring back memory of place. And, once we are aware of their presence, they further enrich our experience. Our new electronic worlds gives us the opportunity to record and then send our recordings easily. It also allows us to compile and edit collected recordings into a sound symphony to be presented to the community and to be available as a sound archive.

The Seasonal Sounds of Leverett is funded by the Rattlesnake Gutter Trust and the Leverett Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. The project would not be possible without the many Leverett volunteers who are recording the sounds. Thank you.

Join us at the Leverett Library on June 17th as we gather to listen and guess at the Fall and Winter sounds.

More Guided Walks? Programs? Stuff?

RGT volunteers are always actively planning upcoming events. Keep checking back to see what’s next. There’s always something new in the works.

Also, the Leverett  Trails Committee (LTC) is busy maintaining the many trails in Leverett. Check the LTC Events page to see what they have planned.

      • Guided walk at ELM, “Local Pollinators,” led by Jarrod Fowler , July 23, 2016. A hot and windy day. A great day for pollinators.MAW_pollinators1_6266-600px
      • Guided walk at 4H Forest, “Ferns,” led by Randy Stone, June 26, 2016. More than 20 fern finders turn out for a spectacularly successful (19 different ferns) walk along the 4H forest trail.DHW_fern_walk_0524-600px

Guided walks would not be possible without the hard work of the Leverett Trails Committee – which is co-sponsored by RGT and the Leverett Conservation Commission. To help with trail work, check out the scheduled Work Days
